How To Clean an Intex Pool
Keeping a swimming pool sparkling involves regular cleaning. All pools which use a liner should be regularly cleaned to keep them in top condition. Suntan oil and other sediments can accumulate, making them look dirty. Since an Intex pool is at risk for collapse when it is drained, it must be cleaned when the pool is still full.
Supplies
- Pool vacuum
- Garden hose
- Pool skimmer
- Plastic waste can
- Attach the vacuum pole and head together.
- Install the garden hose into the vacuum head attachment.
- Hook the other end of the garden hose to the outside water tap.
- Attach the vacuum bag to the head on the port. This is where the debris will be collected for disposal. Now, you are ready to start the vacuuming process.
- Lower the vacuum into the water until you reach the bottom. Turn on the water tap.
- Sweep the floor of the pool with a gentle back and forth motion to remove any remnants.
- Continue the process around the walls until the entire pool has been swept.
- Turn off the water and remove the vacuum.
- Take the bag off of the vacuum head and discard any debris.
- Wash the vacuum bag thoroughly with warm water. This will remove corrosive chlorine from the bag.
- Hang the bag up and allow it to dry before storing it.
Surface Cleaning
- Once the surface below the water has been cleaned it's time to clean the water.
- Insert your pool skimmer net onto your pole and snap into position.
- Drag you skimmer through the water capturing any floating objects.
- Tap the net gently on the outside of the pool rail to dislodge any debris. For inflatable pools keep a plastic waste can nearby. This method is used mostly for collecting leaves and other plant material.
