How To Get Road Tar Off Auto Paint
Getting road tar on your new vehicle is not only frustrating, but it can also be expensive if you take the car to a professional to have it removed. The most important thing to remember is it will not just come off of the car with soap and water, but there is a way to get it off easily by following a few simple steps.
How to Get Road Tar Off Auto Paint
- Purchase a cleaner especially made for tar removal. This can be purchased at most automotive supply stores. You can ask the sales clerk which product would work best.
- Spray the tar with some WD-40 and allow it to set for a couple of minutes before wiping it off with a clean dry cloth.
- Put some creamy peanut butter on the tar spots and allow it to set for approximately 30 seconds and then use a clean towel to wipe it off. This may have to be done more than once before the tar will come off.
- Pour some undiluted gasoline into a spray bottle and spray it onto the tar marks. Allow it to set for a couple of minutes before using a dry sponge to remove.
- Park your car in the sun for approximately three hours. Apply some Crisco shortening onto the road tar. Use a soft dry towel to remove.
