A woman never forgets her makeup, especially her mascara. However, many dread the mascara that smears. There are several tricks in keeping mascara from smudging. Try finding mascara that works for your particular eye and ask for tips from family members. The key ingredient to keep mascara from smearing is deciding what trick works best for your eyes.

• Find the perfect mascara for your problem, for example smear proof and waterproof. Keep in mind, just because mascara states it is waterproof does not mean that it will not smear. Several women try different mascaras before they know which one is perfect for them. Perhaps a cheap brand is right for you or going the expensive route may be the solution to your smudging problem.


• Take control of your mascara if you are somewhat sloppy when it comes to applying and removing mascara. Letting the mascara dry completely before going about our daily lives, is a good idea. Removing excess mascara at night is also a solution because it prevents excessive mascara buildup.


• Use a primer. There is such a thing as “preparing your eyes.” The key to smudge-less success for your eyes might be prepping your eyes with primer. • Use a sticky note. It is proven to work. Simply take a small stick note and put it on your eyelashes. When you apply the mascara, all of the left over clumps will land on the sticky note. This will help keep your eye smudge free and ready for the party!
