How To Make Jewelry From Recycled Materials

There are two things that most love to do: save money and be unique. Making your own jewelry from recycled materials is a great way to do both while expressing yourself and your style. It only takes a little time and creativity to design special pieces of jewelry that cost you nothing out of pocket. The key is to be inventive and try new things.

1. Search your junk drawer. Most everyone has a junk drawer full of old things like bolts, cabinet knobs and other odd items. These can be formed into unique jewelry pieces. Bolts make great bracelet and necklace charms.

2. Look in your sewing box. Items like buttons and snaps make nice substitutions for beads. Sequins can also add something special.

3. Find the tackle box. Fishing lures can make amazing accessories. There are multiple things that can be done with various lures found in a tackle box.

4. Look in your yard. Acorns and rocks can make beautiful and artistic pieces of jewelry.

5. Dig out the mementos. Seashells and sand dollars from a beach vacation are just the thing to make jewelry.

6. Do not forget your own jewelry box. There are always loose stones and broken pieces of jewelry in the bottom of the jewelry box. Instead of throwing these pieces out, turn them into new original pieces.
