How To Repair a Loose Car Sun Visor

It is easy to take some parts of our car for granted, especially the sun visor. We clean the exterior and interior but forget about the hanging sun visor. They are important because they protect our eyes from the glaring sun. Sometimes they become loose from everyday use but they can be fixed easily. The process is short and simple.

Materials Needed:

  • Screwdriver

  • WD40 or petroleum jelly

Instructions:

  1. Use a screwdriver to loosen and remove the screws on the sun visor. Read the owner’s manual if the sun visor is mounted in a different way.

  2. Slide the sun visor to the left or the right to remove it from the supporting rod.

  3. Use a clean cloth to wipe the supporting rod.

  4. Use WD40 to oil the supporting rod. You only need a small amount. Use petroleum jelly if you do not have WD40.

  5. Place the sun visor on the supporting rod.

  6. Use the screwdrivers to tighten the screws. Move the sun visor up and down to make sure it operates correctly and is not loose.
