How To Set a Waltham Pocket Watch
Pocket watches are often a family heirloom, passed down from one generation to another. A perfect example of one of these timepieces is the Waltham pocket watch. Because these watches are so very old, they need to be treated, as well as adjusted with care. Setting the time on these watches is fairly simple.
- Remove the front bezel, which is the cover that protects the metallic cover that protects the watch's hands, by carefully turning it counterclockwise until it comes off.
- Locate the lever, usually located by the number 4 on the watch's face. This lever allows you to control the watch's hands.
- Gently pull this lever out.
- Use the winding crown, which is the rotating button located on the back of the watch, to set the time.
- Push the lever back in and replace the bezel.
You can set the time by moving the hour and minute hands located on the face of the watch. You must be very careful if you choose to set the time this way. It is very easy to break the hands, which will make the watch not function properly.
