How To Wear Blush
Many women apply blush incorrectly leading to a unnatural look that is obvious. Blush should highlight your cheek bones and make them appear that they have been sunkissed. Proper application techniques are the key to your blush looking natural and complementing your cheekbones. It is easy to apply once you know how.
- Blush should be applied to highlight the cheekbones. Proper placement is the key to blush application. For a good reference point in determining where to begin application draw a line with your finger from the middle of your eyelid. Where it stops at your cheekbone is the place where you should start the application process.
- Always apply your blush in a sweeping motion. Never lift the brush in the middle to avoid blotchiness. Use a repetitive soft sweeping motion from where the cheekbone begins and ending at your hairline. You should do this numerous times until you have achieved the level of color that you desire.
- A good tip for blush application is that if the color is too dark, you can easily lighten it. You can either apply a loose powder to the surface of your face evenly to reduce the intensity of the color or use a napkin or soft cloth to gently rub the area in a circular motion to remove even amounts.
- Repeat the same process on both sides, ensuring that the application is even on both sides of your face. If one side is not even decide if you want to add more color remove some depending on your personal preference.
- You can purchase blush in a creme variety as well. The application for this type of blush is pretty much the same except you need to blend it into the area where you are applying it in a circular motion so that it goes on smooth and even. Choose a tone that matches the natural tone of your skin for the best visual effect.
