How do Artists Become Famous?
Becoming a famous and well-known artist means that not only is your artwork of good quality, but that you also marketed yourself aggressively. The key to becoming a famous artist is to keep your name out there and your artwork updated, fresh and creative.
- Create a professional website. Choose some of your best pieces of artwork, take clear pictures of them, and use them to build a professional website. Your website should essentially be your resume. Make the website easy to read and use.
- Get your artwork into several art galleries and shows. When attending art shows, do not hide in the corner shyly. Part of becoming a well-known and famous artist is to be outgoing, friendly, and to relate to anyone who comes to view your work.
- Hand out business cards. If you talk to the person for five seconds or an hour, make sure they leave with your business card. Your business card should be of professional quality, clean, easy to read and should showcase a clear picture of your signature piece.
- Network with other artists. Join online social networking groups that will help connect you to local artist in your area. Discuss possible collaborations on shows and pieces with other well-known artists. Combining your ability with someone else's talents can help expand your ability as an artist.
- Keep your gallery, website and show collection constantly changing. People may get bored of seeing the same pieces over and over. Changing your works throughout the course of several weeks can show your diversity and keep people coming back to see what you will create next.
