How to Access Computer History
When using your computer on a regular basis, occasionally you need to find a webpage that you've visited in the past. If this is the case, there is a way that you can access your computer's history with a few clicks on your keyboard.
Any Web Browser
- Turn on your computer or laptop.
- Hold down the "Control" or "Ctrl" key.
- While holding "Ctrl", press the "H" key as well. In Google Chrome this will show you your search history for the current day, the past day and older dates with links that you can click onto to take you to specific pages that you've visited. On Firefox pressing "Ctrl" and "H" will open a side window titled "History." This will have a search window for you to type in specific search criteria or it will have "Today", "Yesterday", "Last 7 days" and so forth listed beneath the search window. Clicking on any of those will open up a list of websites that you've visited. When using Internet Explorer, this will open a "History" box for you to select the date for your search.
Windows Internet Explorer
- Move your cursor to "Tools" and click.
- Slide your cursor down to "Explorer Bars" and hover over the top of it.
- Move your cursor over to "History" and click. This will open the history box.
Firefox
- Move your cursor up to "History" and click.
- Slide down to your most recent history, which will be listed in the drop-down box.
- Click "Show All History" to open up a separate window. Here you will be able to search your history or select from the current or past day's history.
