How to Add Pay-Per-Click Advertising to a Blog
Advertisers are willing to pay bloggers for displaying business ads. The owners of the ads pay a commission each time their ad is clicked. It is a great opportunity for bloggers to write about topics of interest and receive a passive income. The ads are targeted to the theme of the blog.
- Sign up pay-per-click sites and affiliate programs. Google Adsense is the most widely used platform. Keep the different types of ads neatly arranged on your web pages. A cluttered web page looks like spam, and visitors may bypass the site altogether. An attractive layout, ad placement and quality content attracts visitors and encourages them to click ads. The ads that appear are targeted to fit your blog. If you have several blogs and sign up for more than one pay-per-click platform, diversify the types of ads you display on the sites. For example, keep Adsense ads on one blog, Amazon affiliate ads on another, Commission Junction on another, and so forth. If you notice a campaign is not producing, consider changing to a different platform for that particular blog. Each platform provides you with your own unique copy and paste codes to add to your blog.
- Join several niche related forums. Include the link to your most active blog in your forum signature. Answer questions on the forums and remain active. If the forum allows links, include a link to your website when you answer a question, as long as the link is relevant to the question asked. Participate in forums dedicated to online marketing for encouragement and tips on running successful advertising campaigns.
