How to Advertise a Limo Shuttle Service for Proms
Aside from weddings, prom is one of the most popular reasons to rent a limousine. High school students enjoy feeling like a celebrity, dressed up in their best. Many parents hire a limo to ensure safety in arriving and leaving the prom. In order to book business around prom, you’ll spend some time advertising in advance.
- Plan ahead for advertising techniques. Most high school proms are scheduled in April or May. Students start finding dresses and getting fitted for a tux in February and March.
- Contact local high schools and ask if they have set a date for prom. Ask to speak with the teacher sponsors or whoever is in charge. Most prom advisors will be happy to help advertise limo service. You can give the school fliers to be placed in the prom handouts or ask to hang posters throughout the school.
- Ask the administrative offices of school systems in the area if you could have the list of junior and senior students for prom solicitation purposes only. Permission must be granted from the superintendent or principal before given a list of students. Send informational cards or coupons.
- Set up a display at a local high school cafeteria or special event. Offer coupons and incentives to students who visit your display. You might even have a raffle to give away one free limo ride.
- Hire some high school juniors and seniors to promote your limo service within the school. Offers reduced rates for referrals or ask the students to hand out fliers and other limo information.
- Create a Facebook page for your limo business. Find local high school pages and post information. You can purchase inexpensive PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising with Facebook. You only pay for the ad, and if an individual clicks on your ad.
- Talk with local businesses that are also particularly busy during prom season such as barbers, beauticians, tuxedo rental stores, dress stores and floral shops. Offer to refer business to them if they are willing to do the same. Trade fliers or business cards. Recommendations from other professionals are always a good way to drum up more business.
