How to Align Radio Control Transmitters

There are several components involved when playing with radio controlled (RC) vehicles. ONe of them is the transmitter. The transmitter allows certain radio signals to travel down from the antenna to the receiver, which then informs the various mechanical components in the vehicle the commands and actions you wish it to take. Aligning the transmitter allows it to communicate properly with the RC vehicle.

Helicopter

  1. Turn both the transmitter and receiver on.

  2. Place the helicopter on a flat surface with ample room.

  3. Lift the RC helicopter about 1 foot from the ground using the throttle. Make any necessary adjustments on the transmitter controls to allow the helicopter to hover without spinning uncontrollably. You may have to slide the trim alignment left or right to make these adjustments.

  4. Return the helicopter back to the flat surface and adjust the transmitter's idle throttle trim adjuster up or down in order to allow the helicopter's rotor blades to stop spinning while the joystick is in idle position.

Car, Boat or Truck

  1. Turn the RC vehicle on and place it on a flat surface with ample room on all sides.

  2. Make any necessary adjustments with the throttle trim adjuster in order to allow the vehicle to be still when the throttle is in idle position. You may have to slide the trim adjuster up or down if the RC vehicle moves backward or lurches forward while idle.

  3. Make any necessary adjustments with the steering trim adjuster in order to allow the vehicle to drive in a straight line when the joystick is not veered to the left or right. If the vehicle veers right, you will want to adjust the trim adjuster to the left and vice versa.

  4. Drive your RC vehicle to make sure that all the settings are properly set.
