How to Apply Acrylic Nails

All women want beautiful nails, but trips to the salon can be time consuming and expensive. To save time and money, you can do your own acrylic nails at home. To learn how to apply acrylic nails on your own, follow the step-by-step guide in this article.

Materials

  • Monomer

  • Brushes

  • Files

  • Nail tips

  • Powder

  • Nail clippers

  • Cuticle chisle

  • Nail glue

  • Nail primer

  • Paper towel

  • Nail polish (optional)

  • Step 1: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.

Step 2: Clip your nails and file them down. File the nail from the cuticle to the nail tip.

Step 3: Push back the cuticle using the cuticle chisel. To do this, simply push the chisel into the cuticle and back against your finger.

Step 4: Select the nail tips you want to use and apply them to the nails using nail glue.

Step 5: When the nail tips have dried, clip the nail's tip at a length you are comfortable with.

Step 6: Apply nail primer to the nail and allow it to dry. It should appear white when it is dry.

Step 7: Dip your brush into the monomer and then blot it on a paper towel. Dip the tip of the brush into the powder to collect a small amount of it. The powder will look like a small pearl on the brush.

Step 8: Starting in the middle of the nail, next to the cuticle, use your brush to flatten the pearl. Brush from cuticle to tip, until the nail is smooth and even.

Step 9: Repeat steps one through eight for each nail.

Step 10: Use a file to remove any extra acrylic from the nails. You can choose to paint them or leave them natural.
