How to Assemble Computer Furniture
Assembling computer furniture is usually not that difficult for a person who has some patience. The hardest part of putting together a computer desk or other piece of furniture is often working in a tight space. Many people put a computer desk in a small room which can make it difficult to maneuver during the assembly.
Items Needed:
- Screwdrivers
- Mallet
- Adjustable wrench
- Read the instructions that come with the computer furniture before you start the assembly process. Find out the tools that you need, such as a various screwdrivers or a mallet to hammer dowels into the furniture. Gather the things you need to use during the assembly so you have all of your tools handy.
- Open the package that contains all of the various screws, nuts and bolts that you need to assemble the computer furniture. Keep the contents of the package in a large bowl so you do not lose any items while you working on the furniture. Lay the desk materials on the floor and sort them by size.
- Start to assemble your furniture according to the directions. Most computer desks require you to first attach the upright pieces to the horizontal desk surface. Tap the dowels into the upright pieces using a mallet and then attach the pieces to the horizontal surface.
- Install the drawers if your computer furniture has them. Use a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench to assemble the drawer hardware. Slide the drawers into the furniture and make sure that they are open and close properly.
- Put the knobs on the drawers and continue assembling the rest of the furniture according to the instructions. Once you finish make sure that your furniture is level and start to wire your computer.
