How to Build Office Cubicles

How to Assemble Office Cubicles

Cubicles are makeshift workspaces that are created by erecting tall panels around desks. They are meant to provide office workers with space and privacy without requiring permanent changes to the building. Employers interested in outfitting their office with cubicles can easily assemble them with a little work and planning.

What you will need:

  • Cubicle panels

  • Various connectors

  1. Determine the size of the space you have to work with and the number of cubicles that you need to make. Plan the layout on a sheet of paper, and use it for a reference. Cubicles are versatile and can be made in almost any shape or size.

  2. Situate a few panels in front of a desk, and use connectors to hold them in place. Slide flat connectors into each panel's corner. They are designed to lock together and hold the wall in place. You will also need to insert special floor connectors along each panel's bottom corner.

  3. Use special corner connectors at the top and bottom corners to attach another panel at a 90-degree angle to make a corner. You'll need a floor connector for the new panel as well.

  4. Add another corner to the other side of the structure so that you end up with a partial box shape. Ideally, the cubicle panels should comfortably encompass the desk and any other office furniture. You can make the space bigger by adding more panels to one of the sides.

  5. Complete the process for the rest of the desks in your office. Refer to your layout periodically. Make sure to create aisles between each row of cubicles so that workers can easily maneuver around them.
