How to Be a Flower Delivery Person
Flower delivery personnel deliver flowers to the intended recipients or the person who placed the order. The job is fairly simple and requires little training. If you plan to become a flower delivery person, you should plan to spend a lot of time with customers.
- Locate a flower shop that is hiring flower delivery people. You can look for signs in business windows or ads in your local newspaper. Turn in an application or resume and wait for an interview or a call to tell you have been hired.
- Familiarize yourself with the local area. Try to memorize the streets and business addresses. Flowers are commonly delivered to residential addresses, business addresses and even schools. If you are familiar with these addresses, you will be able to deliver flower quickly and correctly.
- Get your delivery list or address from the flower shop and plan out a route. Try to find streets or addresses that are close together so you can make fewer trips and deliver the flowers quicker.
- Load your vehicle with the flowers you will be delivering. Load them so they will not fall over or become damaged during the drive.
- Be friendly when delivering the flowers and double check that they are the right flowers for the address. Notice if the flowers are being sent for a specific reason such as a birthday or anniversary gift. Greet the recipient and send they best wishes for the occasion. This will impress the customer and make them more likely to order flowers from the shop.
