How to Become a Female Bodybuilder

Becoming a female body builder requires putting on some muscle mass. The task will take a lot of hard work and dedication. Women don’t gain muscle mass as easily as men and bodybuilders must normally follow strict diets. Get ready to start pumping some iron.

  • Get plenty of sleep; eight hours every night is sufficient. A lot of energy will be required to quickly build up your muscles.

  • Begin eating foods that are high in protein. You can purchase protein shake mix to add to water or milk from a local nutrition store to help increase protein intake. Protein provides women with more testosterone which helps increase muscle mass.

  • Train consistently for about 4 days every week. If you don’t have a weight room at home, get to a gym and sign up for a membership. Pick a gym where personal fitness trainers are available. Certified trainers will be able to tell you what exercises to do in order to build body mass to become a bodybuilder.

  • Work on areas that need to be strong for weightlifting. These areas include the arms, shoulders, legs and back. The training regime cannot be the same each day or the muscles will not grow quickly. Work on legs one day then switch to arms the next, for example. Switching body parts with workouts will optimize results.

  • Understand what it takes to compete in a bodybuilding competition. Goals will need to be reached. Determine the amount of weight a champion woman bodybuilder can lift and slowly work toward getting to that point. Working too hard or fast can cause injuries. Be sure to pace yourself.
