How to Clean Like Maid Cleaning Services

How to Become a Maid

Maids provide valuable services. Whether someone is too busy to clean their own home or is physically not capable for one reason or another, a maid can make a huge difference in someone's life. Becoming a maid is an admirable career choice and can be very rewarding.

  • Contact maid services in your area if you want to work for an established company. If you do not have experience, this is a good way to get your foot in the door. The company will also handle details such as your insurance and advertising your services. The company will book appointments for you. If you want to be your own boss, however, there are other aspects you will need to handle on your own.

  • Call insurance companies in your area who handle bonding. Bonded insurance ensures that if a customer's property is damaged because of your services, you will not be held liable and the insurance takes care of the property.

  • Research maid services in the area and set up a price list that is in line with what others charge for the same services.

  • Tell everyone you know that you are becoming a maid and ask if they know anyone who needs your services.

  • Stock up on cleaning supplies. You will also need a caddy to carry everything in and out of your clients' homes. Stick with cleaning supplies that work well but are as eco-friendly as possible. This ensures that customers who have allergy problems or difficulty with chemicals are not as affected by your cleaning products and you can use the same products everywhere you go.

  • Set hours for your services and advertise on local bulletin boards and in your local newspaper. If possible, set up a website or list your services on local websites.

  • Ask for testimonials from happy customers to provide to potential new customers.

  • Show up on time and do what you have promised your customers you would do.
