How to Find Freelance Graphic Design Jobs

How to Bid on Graphic Design Jobs

Graphic design submission sites can be a valuable tool for freelance graphic designers. The websites can connect freelancers with potential clients, which display the descriptions of the jobs that need to be done and then enables designers to compete for jobs through bidding. This provides both an opportunity and a challenge for independent designers.

Since the offer is in direct competition designers, it is useful to start with a basic understanding of how the process works and what preparations must be made to be successful.

  1. Prepare a resume that focuses on your creative experiences and education training in design work. Many potential clients want to know the background experience of the graphic designer. Make sure to save your resume document in a RTF or Rich Text Format as most bidding sites prefer that when uploading your resume onto the website.

  2. Create a portfolio of previous graphic design work that you have done. This gives people an idea of what you do and what type of quality your work is as well as if they like your style. Space may be limited on what you can showcase so choose your best work that looks professional.

  3. Decide what you would like to charge for your services on an hourly base. Finding the right balance may take some trial and error so be ready to reconsider the price if things do not work at first.

  4. Register for different graphic designing bidding websites or general freelance bidding websites.

  5. Check for new jobs often. Some bidding websites work in a chronological format in which the current bids are placed at the top, giving an advantage to the bidder without having the employer sifting through a long list of bids.
