How to Bring Money Into Your Community Center

A community center is an important part of the community. They offer help to the neighborhood whenever it is needed. They often are underfunded and rely on fundraising and community support to keep programs and services going. There are many ways that members of the community can help.

How to Bring Money Into Your Community Center

  • Organize a yard sale. Go around the neighborhood asking people to get collect items they no longer want or need for a community yard sale with the proceeds going to the center.

  • Coordinate a raffle. Have tickets printed up and sell them to neighbors and businesses in the area. You may even be able to get local businesses to donate the prizes.

  • Organize a charity sporting event. Try to get competing local television or radio personalities involved as players. The profits from the tickets sold go to the center.

  • Plan a carnival to raise money for the community center.

  • Have a dance-a-thon, skate-a-thon or a walk-a-thon. Participants get sponsors that pledge a certain amount of money for each hour or mile that the participant contributes.
