3. Measure out two pieces of wood that are I inch thick by 5 inches wide by 7 inches long. These pieces of wood will become the front and back of the box.
4. Paint all of your wood pieces to fit your personal style. Allow approximately two days to dry before connecting the pieces together.

Put the wood glue on the face side edge of the 5-inch by 7-inch piece of wood to connect to the 5 inch by 10-inch edge. This will make up one side of the box. Wipe away any excess glue and give at least fifteen to twenty minutes to dry.
6. Attach the 5-inch by 7 inch and 5 inch by 10-inch wood pieces together with a hammer and one-inch nails. Space the nails evenly to cover each inch of the seam.
7. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the other pieces of wood that will make up the other side. This will yield a rectangular shaped box.
8. Attach the bottom of the CD storage box with a line of wood glue. Use the remaining 5 inches by 10 inch pieces for the box. Use a soft cloth to wipe away excess glue.
9. Hammer in the one-inch nails on each corner and each inch of the bottom so it will be attached securely.
