- Router and ½ inch bit
- 4 pieces of plywood (1/2 inch by 10 inches by 13 1/16 inches): short interior divider
- 2 pieces of plywood (1/2 inch by 10 inches by 26 3/16 inches): long interior divider
- 1 piece of plywood (1/2 inch by 19 ½ inches by 19 ½ inches): case back
- 2 pieces of hardwood (3/4 inch by 14 inches by 18 ½ inches): case side
- 2 pieces of hardwood (3/4 inch by 14 inches by 20 inches): bottom and top of case
- Use your router to cut a lengthwise groove into each hardwood panel. The groove should be placed ¾ inch from one edge.
- Assemble the wine case by fitting the hardwood panels onto the plywood backing by inserting the backing into the grooves.
- Secure the panels together with the wood screws.
- Measure the diagonal distance between the inside corners of the case.
- Cut the long dividers down to size if the distance is shorter than 26 3/16 inches.
- Cut bevels into each of the dividers to make a post. The bevel should measure 45 degrees and should be located 10 inches to the end of each divider.
- Place one divider fully into the case and partially insert the other. Mark the intersection point of the dividers.
- Remove both dividers from the case.
- Use a table saw to cut a slot measuring ½ inch wide by 5 inches long into each divider in the spot they intersect.
- Cut a bevel into each of the short dividers measuring 45 degrees and slanted inward.
- Insert the short dividers and long dividers partially into the case to mark the intersections where each divider meets another.
- Remove the dividers from the case.
- Use the table saw to cut a ½ inch wide by 5 inch long slot into each divider.
