How to Build a Corporate Event Team

To build a corporate event team, identify the main purpose of the event. Based on overall corporate goals, select individuals for the team who are committed to the success of the event and are experienced in coordinating high-quality corporate meetings.

  1. Outline the goal of the event. It may be to achieve participation from all departments of the company. Or maybe to communicate company goals, celebrate achievements or brainstorm solutions to difficult corporate issues. Determining the main goal is important for building the most effective corporate team.

  2. Select a corporate event manager. This is an individual who understands the importance of the event and has the ability to motivate and supervise others. The ideal manager has planned corporate events in the past.

  3. Appoint a corporate event coordinator. The role of a coordinator in this context is to serve as the organizational core. The coordinator communicates with the corporate event venue, all members of the event team and the service providers involved.

  4. Establish a budget. Based on this budget, empower the corporate event manager to enlist the assistance of company employees to develop event schedules and presentations. The responsibilities of the various employees may include hiring talent, scheduling important speakers, hiring caterers and distributing meeting materials.

  5. Assign additional team members for the day of the meeting. Large events often involve many elements that may require extra hands. Setting up technical equipment, guiding attendees and distributing meeting schedules are a few tasks for which additional help may be needed that day.
