How to Build a Makeup Mirror
Makeup mirrors aid women in ensuring that their makeup applications are flawless. They also come in handy when treating blemishes and manicuring eyebrows. Instead of spending a small fortune purchasing the perfect makeup mirror for you, you could build it yourself.
How to Build a Makeup Mirror:
Step 1: Construct a panel consisting of 3/4 inch of plywood that measures at least six inches wider than your mirror. This measurement is the same on all four corners of the panel.
Step 2: Mount the mirror onto the panel using mirror clips to secure it.
Step 3: Choose the locations for your light bulb sockets. Mark the locations on the panel. Drill large holes through these marks, ensuring that these holes are large enough to wire the bulb sockets.
Step 4: Wire the light bulb sockets in order using two way electrical cable that is 14 gauge. Connect the bulb socket to the wire and thread the wire through the entry holes.
Step 5: Connect the wire to the hot, neutral and ground terminals. Thread a jumper wire through the exit hole. Continue this process until all bulb sockets are wired.
Step 6: Test the bulb sockets. Screw light bulbs into these sockets and plug the power cord into the wall. Unplug the power cord and allow the light bulbs to cool for one hour.
Step 7: Secure the bulb sockets onto the panel using wood screws.
Step 8: Construct an additional panel that measures 12 inches smaller than the original panel. This measurement is the same on all four corners of the panel.
Step 9: Screw four three inch angled irons onto the interior of the panel. Connect four and 1/4 inch plywood along the edges of the panel to conceal the wiring. Mask the bulb sockets with tape and paint as desired.
Step 10: Screw the folding arm to the back of the mirror using hinged brackets along the edges.
