How to Check on a Plumbing Company

How to Build a Plumbing Company

Your plumbing company is a local success and you have created a steady client base. The next step in your career path is to build your plumbing company and open it up to a completely new demographic. By exploring the possibility of this new demographic you open your business up to the opportunity to building a much larger clientele and possibly becoming a statewide success or more.

  1. Analysis your finances. If it is within your budget solicit the advice of a financial planner or consultant. During this analysis determine where you could afford to take risks and how large of an expansion fits within your budget. For instance, an expansion requires additional equipment and/or staff. When you do build up and/or expand you are covering a wider area. It is impossible to provide services to additional clients without enough employees and/or if you are limited on required equipment.

  2. Meet with a marketing consultant to create a marketing campaign for your plumbing company. Within this initial meeting you could discover marketing tools that ensure the success of your company. This marketing consultant will inform you of possible ads and/or commercial media you could use to present your plumbing company and the services you provide to this wider market. Once a market budget is established that is within your budget work with this consultant to create this marketing campaign.

  3. Work with a temporary staffing agency to try out new employees. By working with a temporary staffing agency you are paying a small fee for utilizing their employment services. This concept allows you to consider the type of employee that is ideal for your plumbing company instead of hiring directly. A temporary employee although they could work full time hours is not considered a full time employee. Until you decide to permanently hire each employee you avoid additional costs such as workmen's compensation insurance.

  4. Consider enlarging your plumbing company headquarters if possible. If your current location will not provide for adequate space for equipment and accommodate a larger staff consider a few options. You could enlarge your current building, purchase a new location or rent a new larger location.
