How to Build a Ramp for a Storage Shed
Ramps are a handy addition to any storage shed. They make it easier to load and unload items into the shed that you want to store. For this project you will need the following building materials: one eight foot 1-by-4, four eight foot 2-by-4s, one eight foot 4-by-8, two eight foot 4-by-8s and one 4-by-8 sheet of masonite.
How to Build a Ramp for a Storage Shed:
Step 1: Determine the height for your ramp. Measure the area from the floor to the ground just outside the entrance of your shed.
Step 2: Draw out the sides on the sheet of plywood. Measure along the edge and make a mark once you reach six feet. This mark is the bottom of the ramp's side.
Step 3: Measure the height using a T-square. Make a mark for the height on the plywood and then draw straight lines from there to the corner.
Step 4: Cut the plywood using these measurements with a saw.
Step 5: Cut a 1-by-4 into two pieces measuring four feet.
Step 6: Cut the 2-by-4 in half to make four pieces. Screw the 2-by4 pieces into the plywood at every mark.
Step 7: Make a mark at six feet and at 3/8 inch on the eight foot plywood on both sides.
Step 8: Cut the plywood to make a 4-by-6. Cut the second sheet.
Step 9: Screw the plywood and masonite to the constructed ramp. Screw the 2-by-4s to the plywood.
