How to Buy Baby Clothes

Babies can be messy creatures and face it you are going to be changing your newborns clothes many times a day. They are constantly spitting up, leaking through their clothes and besides you always want your baby to smell like a baby. So when you are shopping for your newborn go for the basic stuff instead of the fancy things.

  1. Buy onesies. They are very comfortable for your baby and make it easier for you to change them the numerous times a day that they will need changing. Onesies are one-piece outfits that just slip over the baby’s head and snap around their diaper. To start off you need to buy five to seven onesies so you don’t have to constantly wash them as they become soiled.

  2. Buy soft pajamas that have the feet built into them. These will keep your baby warm and cozy. Even in the summer there are very thin pajamas you can buy to keep them covered but cool at the same time. The gowns that have the drawstring on the bottom also keep little feet warm and make it easy to change diapers in the middle of the night. You need six to seven pajamas and two to three gowns to get you off to a good start.

  3. Buy undershirts especially in the summertime. Your newborn can stay in one during the day and even in the winter they work for layering clothes when you go out. Buying five to seven undershirts is also a good idea to start.

  4. Buy sweaters and jackets if it is that time of year. Otherwise, you will want to skip this as your baby will outgrow them before fall even begins.

  5. Buy two to three packs of socks. Babies can never have enough socks. Their little feet get cold easily and you will want to keep them toasty warm.

  6. Buy two sunhats for the summer and two warm hats for the winter. That of course is according to the season your baby is born in. Either way you will need something to protect your baby’s head when you take them out of the house.

  7. Buy three or four special outfits. You need to be able to dress your baby up and show them off on occasion. Spoil yourself and your baby by buying a few outfits that are not practical. Just do not go overboard or they will outgrow them before you take the price tags off.
