How to Buy Winter Clothes for a Toddler

Whether you are sending your toddler off to pre-school or going around town during the winter, you want them to comfortable and warm. Buying clothing for toddlers can be inexpensive if it's possible to purchase clothes at sale or clearance prices.

  • Shop consignment shops in your area. Many of these locations have wonderful clothing at very reasonable prices. Most consignment shops will also allow you  to sell some of your clothing to them as well.

  • Purchase items for your toddler such as long-sleeve tops, long johns, turtle necks, socks, reasonable priced jeans and sweaters. Be sure to purchase clothing that your toddler will feel the most comfortable wearing.

  • Choose items for your child that may be a couple of sizes too big. Purchasing clothes a few sizes too big will allow your children to wear their clothes a little longer. They may also provide more comfort for them to romp around.

  • Purchase a few nice winter pieces for your toddler. These items are for only special occassions. Avoid allowing your toddler to play in these items or keep them on after the special outings.

  • Buy a coat for your toddler that they can wear for at least two years. You may find that a bigger size coat will also keep your toddler more warm and secure in the wintertime.

  • Purchase mittens, hats and ear muffins for your toddler. These items can provide extra warmth in addition to your toddlers clothing.
