How to Buy a Bowling Ball
In order to be a successful bowler you need to have the correct size bowling ball. There are a few things that you will need to know in order to be able to find a great new ball to help you with your game. Armed with this knowledge, you will be able to easily decide upon which bowling ball is the best one for you.
- Make sure that you can easily lift the bowling ball onto your shoulder. If it is too heavy, you can injure yourself.
- Compare the size of your ring finger to the size of the holes in the bowling ball. This is easy to do if you already know your ring size. If not, you will need to test a few bowling balls and find out what their finger size is. Make sure to leave some room for your fingers to easily move in and out, just like you would do if you were purchasing a ring. If the ball does not have holes, you can have the pro shop drill them to fit your fingers.
- Swing the bowling ball back and forth to make sure it is easy for you to use. Each ball will have a different weight so you will want to make sure to choose the one that is right for you.
- Hold the ball for a few minutes in order to make sure that you really can handle its weight. Being able to consistently hold your bowling ball in your own two hands is far more important than whether or not you can swing it for a few seconds or tote it around inside of a bag.
- Choose a color and a design for your bowling ball that you are sure to like well into the future. This is a great way to be able to express yourself so choose carefully here.
- Have your initials put on your ball at the time of purchase. This is a serious investment that you don’t want to become lost in the midst of the other bowling balls at your local bowling alley. It will be much easier to find your ball again if your initials are on it.
