How to Calculate Lawn Services
Owning a lawn service can be very lucrative, especially in warm-weather states. If you own your own lawn business, you understand that pricing your services properly is key. Without proper pricing, your company cannot survive. Consider several factors when pricing your services.
Consider these four areas when pricing your services:
Competition- Your competitors will be one of the best benchmarks for calculating your services. If you are priced much higher than your competitors, you have little chance for gaining any traction in your market. Get some price quotes from other local lawn companies and use these to help you as you set prices.
Overhead- You will need to factor into your prices all of the things that allow your business to stay open. Things like insurance, gasoline, equipment and its maintenance are all things that must be passed along to the customers through your prices. If you do not, your company will not be solvent,
Employees- If you are just starting your business, it may not be necessary to hire someone else to help you. However, if you do, you will need to calculate their expenses and add them to your customers prices. Both their salary and their benefits must be passed along to the customer.
Services- You must place a value on the services that you offer. The factors that will help you set the price is the amount of services given in any given yard and the amount of time it will take you to complete them.
