How to Capture Paranormal Phenomena

Whether you're a novice ghost hunter who just wants to capture a few orbs on film, or you want to take your investigations to the next level, there are several ways to capture paranormal phenomena. Many of these tactics require special equipment, so decide beforehand if you want to invest in equipment.

  • Take advantage of ghost tours. These tours are typically designed to let anyone with an interest in paranormal phenomena capture evidence on camera. These tours may take you through one specific location, or to several locations within a town. The tour guides know specific spots that often yield photo evidence.

  • Use an EVP capture device to attempt to record paranormal sounds. These specially designed devices pick up noises that are otherwise not discernible. Bring your EVP device with you to a location with known paranormal activity. Spend time going through every room of the building. Feel free to ask questions. Although it may seem like a one-way conversation, you may be surprised to hear a voice when you play back your recordings.

  • Set up infrared cameras inside active rooms. These temperature-sensitive cameras can detect movement or temperature changes that cannot be seen without special equipment. Record for a few hours or overnight and check the recordings at a later time.

  • Use a psychic medium if you need to increase the level of activity. Psychic mediums can help provoke paranormal beings through thought and speech, so they can be useful in drawing out increased levels of energy and activity.
