How to Charge a Battery Pack
More people are now choosing to purchase rechargeable batteries instead of disposable batteries. One of the most common reasons is they end up saving money by not having to go out and purchase new batteries every time one needs replacing.
Charging a battery pack is something you can easily do by following a few simple instructions. It is very important that you make sure the battery you are attempting to charge states that it is rechargeable, which should be written somewhere on the battery itself.
- Plug the battery charger into an electrical outlet.
- Set the voltage meter on the charger. It is highly recommended that you do not set the voltage meter on too high of a setting for the battery pack you are charging because it could damage the battery, which may require that it be replaced. If the battery charger is set on too low of a setting it will result in the battery not being sufficiently charged. You can determine what voltage setting to place the battery charger on by examining the battery pack. It should be marked somewhere on the battery. Some battery packs will not be marked such as battery packs for laptops.
- Check on the battery pack as much as possible to ensure that it is not overheating. This is only necessary to do the first time you use the charger. It is recommended that this be done because if the charger is defective or set on too high of a setting it can overheat the battery, which can possibly make it to explode.
