How to Choose Unusual Places to Get Married

For a truly special wedding, it may be worth considering getting married at an unusual place. Not only will it set your wedding apart from others, but it will give you some special memories as well. When choosing an unusual place, there are certain things you must take into consideration.

  • Think about any common interests you and your fiancée share. Consider any places that may hold a special meaning to you. Examples of this would be where you first met, where you were proposed to, where you realized you fell in love, or any other special locations.

  • Consider local places of interest. Do you have an extreme interest in any of the local areas or theme parks?

  • Consider places that allow you to connect more with nature. Beaches, forests, sailboats and wildlife preserves all make excellent natural weddings and are delightfully unusual as well.

  • Consider any locations that may match the theme you have chosen for your wedding.

  • Make sure to choose a place that can accommodate the members of your wedding and your wedding guests.

  • Make sure that the person who will be officiating your wedding will be available at the location you have chosen.

After you have taken these things into consideration and have chosen the location for your wedding you will need to undertake the following steps:

  1. Call the place that you have chosen and make sure they can accommodate your wedding. For public sites, check to see if it will remain open during the ceremony or if they will close it to the public.

  2. Visit the site in person to make sure that it is truly the place where you want hold your wedding.

  3. Reserve the location for the day of your wedding and make a deposit if required.
