How to Choose a Cruise Line
Although it's always fun to plan your vacation, choosing a cruise can be a very difficult process for some. There are a lot of things to take into consideration such as your budget, the itinerary, the ports, the cabins, the amenities and what's included in the initial price.
- Decide where you want to go. Do you want to take a tropical cruise to the Caribbean or would you prefer a scenic cruise to Europe? Remember, prices will greatly vary depending on your destination.
- Decide when you want to go. Cruises do run year round. However, a cruise in the summer months will run you a bit more than a cruise taken in the fall or winter months. Cruise lines typically drop their prices during hurricane season which is usually in September and October.
- Figure out if you'll be taking your little ones. Some couples prefer to go on a romantic cruise and leave the kids out of the situation whereas some prefer a family cruise. If you're planning on taking your children, make sure the cruise line has plenty of activities to keep them busy.
- Determine what you're expecting out of the cruise. Whether you want a ship with a casino, a bar, an outdoor or indoor pool, a spa or a game room, these are things you need to think about. You need to figure out what amenities will make you and yours happy.
- Research. Once you find a cruise line that answers the above questions for you, you will have a better idea of what type of cruise you're seeking. Use the Internet and your travel agent to help you finalize your decision. Other things to take into consideration are the cruise's itinerary, the cabins, the eateries, the attractions and the overall size and feel of the cruise ship.
