How to Choose a Drinking Water Purifier

Staying hydrated is one of the most important things that you can do for your health. However, sometimes tap water can leave a bad taste in your mouth or may even contain some impurities that aren't so healthy. Choosing the right water filter based on your needs is the first step in living a healthier life. A drinking water filter can save you money by eliminating the need to buy bottled water.

1. Decide  whether you want a water purifier that connects directly to your sink or a pitcher type that you can fill and then place in the refrigerator.  Either one will work efficiently and will remove chlorine taste and specific contaminants from regular tap water.

2. Consider getting a whole house water filtration system. These systems are more expensive, but if you live in an area with sulfur water or hard water, you might benefit most from this type of system. You can use a whole house filtration syetem for purifying your drinking water and for all of your other household water needs.

3. Find out  how often your water filter needs to be changed before making your purchase. You change some filters every few months, while others need to be changed every month, which can add considerable costs to your initial investment.

4.  Head out to your local discount store. No matter which type of water purifier you chose, you will probably find several different brands available. A common factor in filtration systems is a charcoal filtration system that filters out impurities and chlorine taste.
