Keeping them looking new requires a bit of cleaning effort on your part.

Start by sweeping your entire driveway that is covered in pavers. Use a hard-bristle broom so that it can get in between the bricks. This is where dirt and other grime can build up over time.

  1. Look over your pavers for any oil or other spills that have leaked from vehicles. Buy plain clay cat litter and pour it on these oils spills liberally. The cat litter acts as a magnet for absorbing all sorts of spills. Let it set on the spills overnight and don’t park your cars on the driveway.

  2. Sweep away using a dustpan to remove the cat litter the next day. Make sure you sweep it well to remove all the litter including the dust. You may find the cat litter has blackened as it absorbed the oil on your on your pavers.

  3. Use a high-pressure garden hose attachment and spray off your pavers completely. Use a bucket and mix a 50/50 mixture of mild detergent to water. Pour this slowly over all the pavers; mix more solution if you do not have enough. Do not use detergents that have bleach since this is not safe to use on plants that may surround the pavers

  4. Use a scrubber and scrub the pavers, especially where there were stains. Use your high-pressure hose attachment to spray the pavers off completely. You should see a much brighter and cleaner driveway. Repeat regularly to keep your pavers looking their best.
