How to Clean Gutters With Air
The gutters on your home are your home's drainage system. Water that lands on the surface of the roof drains down the gutters and out of the spout at the bottom when they are working correctly. However, gutters can often become clogged with dirt and leaves which causes them to become blocked. You can easily clear the gutters in no time with the use of air.
- Place a large ladder up against the side of your house. Be sure that the ladder is tall enough that you can easily reach the gutters without having to overreach, avoiding the chance of accidental injury.
- Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself from the debris that you will be removing from your gutters.
- Have someone secure the ladder for you by standing at the bottom of the ladder and holding it to ensure that it stays stable during the cleaning process. They should also wear safety goggles to protect their eyes from falling debris.
- Secure the leaf blower you are using by tying a rope to the leaf blower and connecting it to the ladder so that it is safe in the event that you accidentally drop the leaf blower during the process.
- Turn on the leaf blower and direct it in the direction of the gutters working your way around the perimeter of your house. You will need to reposition the ladder periodically as you work.
- Scoop out any remaining leaves that are left in the gutters once you have worked your way around the perimeter of the gutters on the home.
- Take the rope off of the leaf blower and hand it down to the person who is holding the ladder, and then step down off of the ladder.
- Put the ladder and leaf blower back where you keep them.
