How to Clean Hair Spray Off the Walls
It is not uncommon for hairspray to build up on bathroom walls due to it being the room where most people usually style their hair. The hairspray on the walls should be cleaned as soon as possible to prevent it from becoming too sticky.
Cleaning a bathroom should be done on a regular basis to keep it in sanitary condition. That would include cleaning the hairspray from the walls. There are several ways this can be accomplished depending on how bad the buildup is on the walls.
- Use a smooth edge scraper to scrape the walls. Make sure you do not press down too hard because you do not want to damage the surface of the wall. Once you have removed as much of the hairspray as you can with the credit card you will need to wash down the walls. This should be done by mixing two cups of warm water and one cup of fabric softener in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the walls and use a soft cloth to remove. This method should be used when there is a thick buildup.
- Mix some water and baking soda together to form a paste. Apply the paste to the walls and allow it to set for approximately 20 minutes. Use a wet cloth to remove the paste after the time has lapsed.
- Apply some rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth and use it to clean the hairspray off the walls. Use this method if the buildup is minor.
