How to Clean High Rise Windows

Cleaning high rise windows typically requires trained professionals. This type of work can be very dangerous. Technically untrained workers can do this, but it should definitely be done with caution. Safety training and proper gear should always be a priority when cleaning windows of high rise buildings.

1. Remember safety. High rise windows are not for just anyone to clean. You should be trained in ladder or lift safety. Also consider the location of the high rise and the traffic surrounding it.

2. Recruit help. This is not a job one person should do alone. Find someone to help you, even if they do not actually climb up with you. You should have someone around in case of an emergency.

3. Gather supplies. You will need window cleaners, sponges, squeegees, ladders and possibly a lift. You may also need safety gear, such as straps or harnesses.

4. Clean the windows. You will want to be sure to use the correct cleaner, and probably a strong one. This is not a job you can easily go back and correct. Determine the cleaning method by considering the climate and other area factors such as rain, snow, even birds.

5. Ask for approval. You do not want to complete a high rise job the told it is not good enough. Ask the owner or manager of the building if the cleaning has met the standards that were expected.
