How to Clean Laptop Computer Cases
Materials Needed
- Mild dishwashing liquid
- Water
- Small bucket
- Sponge
- Cloth
- Cotton swab
- Mix 1 part mild dishwashing liquid and 5 parts water in a small bucket. Mix the liquid with a sponge to make the mixture sudsy. You want to use a mild detergent because anything harsh can ruin the case. Avoid products that contain acid or alkaline.
- Dip a sponge into the bucket and wring the sponge until it is damp. A soaked sponge can get into the computer and cause it to fail. This can cause expensive repairs or replacement.
- Wipe over the laptop case gently with the sponge. Avoid wiping the interior of the laptop. Skip over openings on the outside of the case.
- Rinse the soap from the sponge with clean water. Wring the sponge and leave it damp. Wipe over the laptop case to remove as much of the soap as possible.
- Take a cloth and dry the laptop case completely. Allow the laptop case to dry for about 30 minutes before using it.
- For those hard to reach areas on the case, dip a cotton swab into the soap solution and clean the cracks. Do not use too much water on those parts.
