How to Clean Like Maid Services

Cleaning is never really what we consider a good time, however learning some useful tricks can get your place spotless and clean.  In this economy, it can also save you a bundle of money doing it yourself instead of hiring a professional maid service to do the job for you.

Things You'll Need:

  • Dust mop

  • Vacuum

  • Glass cleaner

  • Paper towels or Newspaper

  • Tile cleaner

  • Broom

  • Wood polisher

  • Scrub brush

  • Toilet bowl cleaner

  • Toilet scrubber

  • Shower cleaner

  • Disinfectant

Instructions:

  1. Start with the living room.  Use the glass cleaner and paper towels or newspaper to clean off any dust and smears off of glass furniture or items like coffee tables, televisions and windows.

  2. Use the wood polish to clean any wood furniture and a dust mop to get the dust off of items such as bookcases.  Use a broom (if wooden floors) to sweep up and dispose of any dirt on the floor or a vacuum if the living room is a carpeted area.

  3. Make your way into the kitchen.  Use tile cleaners for the counter tops and wood polish for the cabinets. Dispose of all the trash that is accumulated on the tables/counters.  Unload the dishwasher and reload it with dirty silverware and plates.

  4. Use a broom to dispose of dirt on the floor and dispose in the trash.  Lastly, use a mop and a floor cleaner made for the type of floor to clean the floor.  Let the floor dry before re-entering the kitchen.

  5. Enter the bathroom.  Use the glass cleaner to clean the counter tops and mirrors in the bathroom.  Use a toilet cleaner, pour it into the toilet and let it sit for a good ten minutes.  In the meantime, give the shower a good scrub down with a scrub brush and the bathroom tile cleaner.  Make sure to get the rust and mold off of the shower tile walls.

  6. Use the scrub brush for the toilet and scrub along the outer edges, making sure to get any stains out.  Use some disinfectant spray and spray the toilet seat and handle.  Use the mop and once again, mop the floor with floor polish or cleaner.

  7. Go into the bedroom.  Put clean laundry in its appropriate drawer space or closet.  Use some wood polish or cleaner and paper towels to clean the side tables, vanity sets and bureau.

  8. Make the bed and then use a vacuum to get rid of any dirt on the floor, if the bedroom is not carpeted then use a broom.  Use the proper floor cleaning solution to then polish the floor. Repeat this process for all bedrooms.
