How to Clean Metal Sinks

Metal sinks are a choice for many homeowners. They are perfect for the home because liquids, foods or scratches do not easily damage it. When they need cleaning, there are many products on the market at your grocery or home improvement store for the task. Those products can become expensive and they are often unnecessary. You can easily clean the sinks with household items.

How to Clean Metal Sinks


Materials Needed



  • Baking soda

  • Vinegar

  • Hot water

  • Sponge

  • Clean cloth


1. Baking soda is the best household item used to clean metal sinks because it does not damage the sink. Sprinkle the sink lightly with baking soda. Make sure you cover the sides and bottom of the metal sink.


2. Vinegar will disinfect the sink and help the baking soda cut through any stains. Soak a sponge with vinegar.


3. Wipe the sides and bottom of the sink with the sponge soaked in vinegar. Spread the baking soda as you clean the sink.


4. Allow the baking soda and vinegar mixture to sit for about five minutes.


5. Rinse the sink with hot water to remove the vinegar and baking soda residue.


6. Take a dry clean cloth and wipe the sink to dry it.
