  • Broom

  1. Spread a layer of cat litter over the oil stains and allow the litter to soak up the oil for 24 hours.

  2. Sweep the pavers with a broom to remove as much dirt and debris as well as the cat litter. Make sure the dirt and the cat litter is removed from all corners and seams.

  3. Rinse the pavers with water from a garden hose. This will get the pavers ready for cleaning with the detergent.

  4. Fill a 5-gallon bucket with hot water and apply 5 drops of mild liquid dish detergent. Stir the soap and water with the broom handle.

  5. Spray the pavers with the garden hose. Pour the soap and water over the entire area. Scrub the pavers with a broom to clean and remove the dirt.

  6. Rinse the area thoroughly with a garden hose to remove all traces of the soap. Get into the seams and up against the house. Rinse the area several times. Pour out the soap and water solution and rinse the bucket.

  7. Mix 1 cup of bleach and 1 gallon of water in the bucket. Slosh the solution around in the bucket. Pour the solution over the pavers and use the broom to clean the area. Use extra elbow grease for stains.
