How to Clean Shower Door Tracks
Shower door tracks are notorious for soap scum and dirt and can seem impossible to keep clean. It is not that difficult to keep the door of the shower clean, it is often the bottom tracks that cause the problem. The tracks are not something that people think about drying once they get out of the shower, so the soap scum tends to build up.
How to Clean Shower Door Tracks
- Slide the shower door back and use an old toothbrush to loosen up the grunge in the door tracks. Once you have completed one side, slide the door to the opposite side and do the same thing to the other side of the track.
- Use a vacuum with a long nose hose attachment to suck the grunge out of the tracks of the door.
- Apply a liquid spray cleaner on the door tracks.
- Use a tile brush to scrub the tracks and use a toothbrush on the hard to get to places.
- Fold a scrub pad to fit into the tracks and continue to clean the tracks if more cleaning needs to be done.
- Put some water in a bucket and pour it into the door tracks to rinse out the cleaner. The tracks of the door contain drain holes that lead to the tub or shower stall, so the water should be directed in that direction and away from the floor.
- Use a cloth to wipe away any dirt left behind after the rinsing process.
