How to Clean Storm Windows

Storm windows provide a barrier to prevent the elements from reaching the interior of your home. These work extremely well in hurricane prone areas. They also provide an extra layer of insulation that will cut the costs of your heating and cooling bills.

How to Clean Storm Windows:

Step 1: Combine a mixture of cornstarch, white vinegar, ammonia, and warm water. Mix until the cornstarch is completely dissolved. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.

Step 2: Spray the mixture onto the interior side of the storm windows. Using wadded up newspaper, scrub the storm windows until all dirt and debris are cleaned away.

Step 3: Rinse the mixture from the storm window with warm water and a clean cloth.

Step 4: Spray the mixture on the exterior side of your storm window. If you cannot reach this side of your storm windows, use a long handled scrub mop to scrub the window. Rinse the windows with your garden hose.
