How to Dye Black Hair Blond

How to Color Black Hair Ash Brown

If you have black hair or have already dyed your hair black, simply purchasing an ash brown color of dye will not do the trick. Black is the darkest color that hair can possibly be and although it will take quite a few steps to go from such a dark color to the ash brown color, it is doable.

  1. Take a good look at your hair. If your hair is already damaged, going from dark to a lighter color may not be feasible. If your hair is in fairly good condition, you will be able to go on to the next step.

  2. Take a trip to a beauty supply store. Sally's Beauty Supply is one of many beauty supply stores that offer a wide array of hair products. If you do not have a beauty supply store in your area, you can order from Sally's online.

  3. Purchase a hair color remover. There are several different brands of hair color removers for you to consider. One 'n Only Colorfix has a four star rating and can be used to remove permanent hair dye from hair even if the color has been on the hair for a while.

  4. Follow the directions on the color remover package. Apply the color remover to your hair. The hair must be dry before you apply the color remover.

  5. Cover your hair securely with a shower cap once you have applied the remover all over the hair. Leave the remover on for 20 to 30 minutes.

  6. Thoroughly rinse all of the color remover out of the hair. Dry your hair and notice the results. If you still need the hair to be lighter, you can repeat the color removal process again after the hair has dried completely.

  7. Use the color remover to get all or most of the black dye out of your hair. Once you have the results that you were looking for, you can begin to dye your hair with the ash brown hair dye.

  8. Follow the instructions that come along with the ash brown hair dye. You will need to apply the hair dye all over dry hair. Make sure that you do not miss any spots.

  9. Leave the hair dye on the hair for the directed amount of time. Rinse the hair dye out of your hair, apply a color seal conditioner, and rinse again.

  10. Blow dry your hair and enjoy your beautiful new look.
