How to Treat Bunions With Alternative Medicine

How to Compare Alternative Medicine to Modern Medicine

Healthcare costs continue to rise, which has led many to seek out alternative forms of medicine. The main goal of alternative medicine is to keep from becoming ill by preventing illness through supplementation and diet. Modern medicine varies greatly since it deals with medications and scientific data to treat illnesses as they occur.

  1. Looking at modern medicine
and alternative medicine side-by-side it is clear to see they differ a great bit. First, modern medicine deals with a crisis as it
arises. For instance, a person has a heart attack, modern medicine
addresses this and does an excellent job. On the other hand,
alternative medicine focuses on preventing the heart attack in the
first place through various herbs, supplementation, and diet.

  2. Modern medicine looks at
and treats symptoms. If you go to your doctor and complain that you
have continual heartburn, you will probably be prescribed an acid
reducing medication. If you go to a doctor of natural medicine with
the same symptoms, their goal is finding out what is causing the
    heartburn.

  3. Breaking a bone requires an
emergency room visit. Modern medicine is very good at dealing with
these type of traumatic situations. On the other hand, alternative
medicine focuses on chronic conditions. For example, if you have
back pain, a chiropractor may be able to provide relief with no
    drugs or surgical procedures.

  4. Modern medicine's complete
focus is on the physical body. If something is broken or not working
correctly, their goal is to provide medication or surgical
procedures to correct the physical problem. This is where modern
medicine and alternative medicine differ the most since alternative
medicine does not just look at the body, they also look at the
emotions, and mental state. These two types of medicines can work
together to help overall health since one is concerned with treating
what is wrong right now and the other is concerned with preventing
    illness.
