How to Compare SUV Mileage

Comparing the mileage of different SUVs is how many buyers decide on which vehicle to purchase. It is important to compare SUVs that are similar in size, so the buyer makes an accurate comparison. The year of the different SUVs can also make a difference in the mileage, especially if one SUV is new and one is used.

  1. Use a search engine to help you find the mileage of one SUV that you are considering. For example, if you want to find the mileage of a 2011 Toyota Highlander SE type ”2011 Toyota Highlander SE SUV mileage” in the search engine field. Read the results of the search and write down the mileage of the first SUV you are considering.

  2. Repeat the search with any other SUVs you are looking to purchase. Once you have all of the results, compare the mileage of each SUV. If one SUV has much better mileage than the others, check the price before you dismiss the other SUVs, since the one with the best mileage may be out of your price range.

  3. Narrow your choices down to the best two SUVs. If you are only considering new SUVs, go to the dealership that sells the SUV that is your first choice. Confirm that the mileage you found online is the same that is on the sticker of the SUV.

  4. Take the SUV for a test drive and check the interior to make sure there is enough room for your needs. If you like the vehicle, make the salesperson an offer to buy it. If you are still not sure you want to buy the SUV, go to the dealership that sells the second SUV on your list to help you make a decision.

  5. Check the second SUV to make sure the mileage you found online is correct. Take the vehicle for a test drive and inspect the interior for your size requirements. Decide which SUV is best and finalize the purchase.
