How to Conclude Your Fitness Training Workout
If you perform fitness training, you should conclude your workout properly. To conclude a workout, perform a cool down routine and replenish fluids with water. Also, stretch muscles for 10 to 15 minutes, and consider drinking a protein shake to build stronger muscles.
- Perform a cool down routine at the end of your workout. This is done with slow paced exercises like walking on a treadmill or jogging in place. Cool down is important because stopping exercise suddenly is unhealthy. Your heart rate needs to slow down gradually, and slow exercise will provide this.
- Drink plenty of water after fitness training to replenish fluids lost from sweat. Water provides hydration to prevent muscle soreness and cramping as well. Drink at least two large glasses of water after your fitness workout for proper fluid intake. Consider purchasing water with nutrients added for hydration and electrolyte replenishment.
- Stretch muscles after a workout for 10 to 15 minutes. This is important to soothe tense muscles and to prevent cramping. Stretch your entire body and pay close attention to muscle groups that were worked the hardest.
- Consider drinking a protein shake after a workout. These shakes provide nutrients to build and strengthen muscles after workout sessions. Drink shakes 30 minutes after exercise is complete to provide the greatest nutritional benefits.
- Take a shower after each workout to remove sweat from the body. Sweating occurs in excess during exercise and cleaning will be necessary. Also, hot water will keep muscles flexible and provide comfort when muscles are sore.
