How to Convert Used Tires Into Diesel Fuel
Everyone is interested in helping to save the environment; so researchers have found a way to put all those old tires to use. Instead of clogging landfills and tire dumping sites, you can use those old tires to make a diesel fuel that can power vehicles.
- Collect all the old tires that you can find. Some good places to find old tires are at tire dumping places, junkyards and landfills.
- Locate a company that has a conversion system that you can use. Take the tires to the facility to grind.
- Grind up the old tires, once at the facility.
- Place ground-up tires in glass flask. Cover the flask, creating a vacuum, with a glass bell cover.
- Place the glass flask into a microwave. Make sure that the microwave contains a thermal indicator. The time needed to set on the microwave will vary, depending on the unit used. The person at the facility should know how long to set the microwave.
- Remove the glass flask from the microwave. Make sure to wear heavy gloves before doing this. Remove the glass bell cover from the flask.
- Collect Oil. Below the condenser will be oil that dripped during heating. This oil is actually fuel, a high-quality diesel, that can be used to power vehicles. Collect the fuel and use it in your vehicle, provided that it has a diesel engine. If you do not have a diesel engine, ask friends and relatives they do or if they know someone who could use the diesel fuel.
